We are pleased to commence the Year 2 of the 5-year (from 2024 to 2028) “East-Meets-West” PCS health screening Program*. In 2024, we conducted this health screening program to several thousand participants in Singapore. This program is curated by PULSE Preventive Medical Group for participants aged 25 to 74 years.
This program includes Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation with experienced TCM physicians. Beyond the conventional blood tests and medical reviews, TCM diagnostics such as body constitution, pulse and tongue etc. will complement the assessment of potential health issues such as gut health, heart health, bone & joint health, mental wellness, sleep quality, energy levels etc. The physician will then provide assessment report and recommendation for follow-up care plan.
With Traditional Chinese Medicine now integrated into Singapore’s healthcare initiatives, the “East-Meets-West” PCS program follows suit, fostering a more effective healthcare system that merges both ancient wisdom and modern science.

Tell me about Precision Community Screening (PCS) program.
PCS is a comprehensive health screening program to provide population-wide health screening for a period of 5 years (from 2024 to 2028).
Working with participating organizations and corporations through this program, our aim is to raise awareness of the importance of early disease detection and to encourage the community to adopt a proactive approach to their health.
Are there any requirements to be accepted into this screening program?
You must be a Singaporean/PR residing in Singapore, aged between 25-74 years old (after your birthday) at the time of registration and have not undergone any form of cancer treatment.
Individuals who have medical conditions and women who are pregnant, should seek advice from your doctor on suitability to participate in this campaign before proceeding with the registration.
How do I sign up for this screening program?
After successful registration via invite link provided by the participating organisations and corporations, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire to be eligible for a fully subsided screening. Please secure an appointment within 3 months from the registration date to maintain your eligibility.
This is based on a first come, first served basis, and registration will close once we achieve the maximum allocated number of participants.
What is the time frame in which I need to book appointment and complete the screening?
You must complete the screening within the validity date (within 90 days from your registration). Failure to adhere to this timeframe will result in the forfeiture of eligibility.
Why am I unable to register for the screening?
It could be either of the following reasons:
i) Our system has shown that you are not associated with the participating organisations and corporations.
ii) We have reached the maximum allocated number of participants.
iii) All fields and mandatory tick boxes must be completed to proceed.
We apologies for any inconvenience or issues that may be applicable to your situation.
Can the validity period be extended?
The validity period cannot be extended.
We recommend that you book and complete the health screening as soon as possible, before the validity date.
Do I have to go for the screening every year and what happens if I miss one of them?
After joining this program, all participants are strongly encouraged to screen annually till
2028, as it is important to monitor your health conditions annually for timely and
effective care plan.
Yearly email invitation will be sent to participant, for their subsequent screenings.
Should the participants miss or choose to skip any of the consecutive annual screenings, they will no longer be eligible for the complimentary option of the screening program. However, they are welcome to come to the anuall screening and choose other
screening packages, at the privileged pricing that all the eligible participants are entitled
to.
I am unable to complete all the screenings with the 5-years period (from 2024 to 2028), can I extend this?
PCS is a 5-year (from 2024 to 2028) health screening program. Participants will be
entitled to the annual screening once a year, until 2028. So far, there is no plan to extend
after 2028.

If I am unable to screen on one of the years, can I transfer this subsidised screening to someone else?
This screening program is non-transferable.
How long is the interval between each screening?
We recommend that the interval between each screening to be kept between 10-14months. To facilitate the program completion, an annual reminder will be sent out via email. It is advisable to adhere to the specified window period outlined in the email.
How do I end my participation in this campaign before the end of the 5 years period?
If you are not keen to continue with program, you are not obligated to return for the annual screening in the following years. No further action is required from you.
What are the tests and assessment that will be done?
The health screening includes:

Lipid Panel (Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Cholesterol/HDL Ratio, Triglycerides);

Why PCS is adopting the integrated healthcare initiative?

This year, we include Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation with TCM physicians who are experienced with integrated healthcare.
What are the benefits of such integrated healthcare initiative?
Beyond the conventional blood tests and medical reviews, TCM diagnostics such as body constitution, pulse and tongue etc. will complement the assessment of potential health issues such as gut health, heart health, bone & joint health, mental wellness, sleep quality, energy levels etc. The physician will then provide assessment report and recommendation for follow-up care plan.
The doctors and TCM physicians will provide collaborative assessment on your health status, this holistic approach will help in your future health management and medical care.
Can I add additional tests?
Yes, add-on blood test items are available for more comprehensive screening, based on individual needs.
Should you choose to do additional screening other than those assigned, it will be at your own discretion and the costs will be borne by you.
Can I walk into one of the clinics without making an appointment?
We do not recommend walk-ins as making an appointment ensures availability and allows the clinic to prepare the necessary tests in advance.
Can you help me to make a screening booking?
We apologize that we are unable to make a booking on your behalf to comply with local regulatory and law requirements.
Do I need to bring along any documentation for verification?
Please bring along your
- NRIC (physical card or SingPass App)
- A copy of the card, document indicating your association with the participating organisations and corporations.
Is there a specific location where I can go for the screening?

Is fasting required?
Fasting is not required for the blood tests.
Can I still take my medication before the health screening?
Yes, you can continue to take your chronic medications (e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease) before coming for your health screening. However, if you are feeling unwell, please contact the clinic to reschedule your appointment.
Can I still go for the health screening if I am currently on antibiotics?
If you are feeling unwell, please contact the clinic to reschedule your appointment as the illness and associated medications may impact the accuracy of the test results.
It is advisable to wait for 2 weeks after you have fully recovered to undergo your health screening.
What should I do if I am unwell on the day of the screening?

Can I take my health supplements e.g. vitamins or probiotics before the screening.
Yes, you may. You do not need to stop taking your health supplements before coming for the screening.
Can I proceed with health screening after vaccination?
Some blood inflammatory markers may be elevated after vaccination. If you want to avoid this situation, you can do your health screening about 2 weeks after any vaccination. It is advisable to consult your primary healthcare provider before going for the health screening.
How long will the screening take?
The estimated time for each process is as follows (exclude waiting time):
1. Blood draw process: about 20-25 minutes including explanation about the tests and clinic registration at the front desk.
2. TCM consultation: about 15 minutes

I am currently menstruating. Can I go for health screening?
it is advisable to wait until Day 7 from the last day of your menstrual cycle to prevent menstrual blood contamination during urine and stool collection.

Please seek advice from your primary healthcare provider on your suitability to participate in this program before going for the health screening if you are pregnant.

When will I receive the results?
The clinic will notify you on your result within 14 working days.
How do I receive the results?
The clinic will email your result as attached file(s) to your email address provided, and will a SMS message to notify you.
How do I interpret my results?
The higher tiered add-on packages do come with a post review tele-consultation.
During this tele-consultation, you may consult the doctor if you have any questions on your results.
NOTE: The fully subsidized screening package (and the lower tiered ad-on package) does not come with a post review tele-consultation.
You may pay for add-on tele-consultation with the doctor to review your results; Or you will need to consult with your own doctor to interpret the test results should you choose not to book tele-consultation with our clinic.
What should I do after my screening?
If your results are normal, you should continue to take advantage of this program and screen annually for 5 consecutive years till the end of the program. Screening only detects health conditions that are present at the time of testing. However, if you develop signs or symptoms after your screening, please see your doctor and do not wait for your next screening appointment.
What should I do if my results have abnormalities?
The doctor may request for additional / follow-up tests or refer you to a specialist or polyclinic if required. Kindly take note that the campaign only covers the yearly health screening cost of the recommended tests for eligible participants.
Should you proceed with any additional consultation or test, it will be at your own discretion and the costs will be borne by you.
Are there any hidden costs or charges associated with this subsidised screening?
There are no hidden costs or charges associated with the fully subsidized screening package.
However, should you choose to do additional screening other than those assigned, it will be at your own discretion and the costs will be borne by you.
If I join this program, who else has access to my health reports other than the doctors?
Your personal data will only be accessed in accordance with the purpose communicated and consented by you.
